Proposed Harris Tweed Centre

Should the new proposed Harris Tweed Centre be situated in Tarbert or Leverburgh.

The preferred option by all the bodies involved with this project is Tarbert whereby they wish to reclaim land by infilling part of East Loch Tarbert to create a site to house the centre at an estimated cost of £1.4 million.

At the same time the council have a vacant plot of land in Leverburgh, ready for development, which should be considered given that Harris Tweed originated in South Harris ( within 1.5 miles of this site ).
You would think that after Comhairle nan Eilean Siar spending thousands of pounds on a consultation for the enhancement of Leverburgh they would show there commitment to South Harris and consider having the Tweed Centre in Leverburgh and at a considerably lesser cost to that of Tarbert.
