Angus Campbell is conducting some market research into a new venture which he hopes to start in Harris in March 2004 until end September 2004 on a seasonal basis.
Angus intend to run day trips to the island on the Edge of the World -St. Kilda. This group of breathtaking islands of towering stacks and sheer cliffs tumbling 1400 feet into the sea is home to rare species of birds and other wildlife and scene of some of the most spectacular scuba diving in the world.
The boat would be capable of seating 12 people in comfort, enclosed from the Atlantic elements if required, and cruising at a speed of 18 to 20 knots which would bring st. Kilda within 2 and a half to 3 hours from Harris. Leaving at 8a.m. and returning to Harris at 8p.m. will allow passengers
the freedom to relax and explore this World Heritage Site at their leisure, although arrival and departure times can be adjusted to suit group needs.
For the first season the cost of this trip will be £80. This is for transport only and does not include equipment for activities like scuba diving etc. or food and drink. However, packed lunches can be arranged on request if required.
Various other islands, usually inaccessible, could be alternative destinations if desired. The eerieness and superstition of the Flannan Isles will raise the hairs on the back of your neck; the Monach Isles teeming with wildlife and the picturesque Shiant Islands in the Minch are all within easy reach on such a vessel.
Angus would be grateful if you could take the time to fill in a questionaire, downloadable from the link below, adding any comments or ideas that you may have, and post or fax to the address above by January 2003.
