This 1.86m high pillar was thought to be part of a stone circle, because several other stones were found around it.
It is situated a short distance from the sea in Borvemore, near the Golf Course. ( NG 020 939 ) |
| Clach Mhic Leòid |

This impressive 3.2m tall monolith stands near the sea at Nisabost Beach. It is supported by packing boulders. Other surrounding stones suggest that there may have been a cairn.
At the equinoxes the sun sets over the island of St Kilda (Hiort), 60km away to the west and visible from Clach Mhic Leòid in clear weather. (NG 047 966) |
